Wendell S. Pratt

Wendell S. Pratt, 58, Wahpeton, died Sunday, July 26 at a Fargo Hospital. The funeral will be at 2 Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.

Visitation is Tuesday afternoon and evening and Wednesday until 11 a.m. at Vertin's-Wahpeton Chapel. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday. There will be visitation at the church for the hour prior to the service.

Wendell Scott Pratt was born July 17, 1923 at Gully, Minn., to W. Clair and Ida (Knable) Pratt. He attended elementary schools at Gully and graduated from Fosston High School, Minn. He served in the U.S. Army beginning January, 1944, serving in the Pacific Theatre. After his discharge he moved to Breckenridge. In 1947 he began to work for Otter Tail Power Co., Wahpeton. He married Jeanette Ziegelman, Sept. 5, 1948 at Great Bend. The couple resided in Wahpeton. He was presently serving as foreman of the electrical shop at Otter Tail's Central stores facility in north Wahpeton.

He was a member of Immanuel Church and was presently serving as a deacon of that church. He was the church custodian for 15 years. He was a member of the Wahpeton American Legion and he was secretary of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Survivors include his wife, three sons and two daughters, Michael, Bloomington, Minn., Barry, St. Paul; Kevin, Wahpeton; Paula Wanna, Eden Prairie, Minn.; Carol Pratt, St. Paul; four grandchildren, three brothers and a sister; Clifford Pratt, and Mrs. Dorothy Nesvold, both Breckenridge; Harvey, Melrose, Minn.; and Warren, Wahpeton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
