Mrs. J. V. Quick Dies Friday Eve
Wife of Pioneer Doctor Come Here in 1884.
Mrs. J. V. Quick, wife of a pioneer Wahpeton physician and surgeon passed away at her home Friday evening. She had been ill for about three years and death followed a stroke.
Mrs. Quick was well known in the community for her kindnesses to the ill and she did much heroic work during the flu epidemic two decades ago. She was devoted to her home and rarely left it especially during the past several years.
Agnes Jamison was born December 18, 1863 at Whitby, Ont. And came to Detroit, Mich., with her mother, Mrs. Robert Jamison as a child ten years old. Her father was killed in an accident when Mrs. Quick was a small child.
She came to Melrose as a young girl to live with her brother, the late W. W. Jamison; and when Mr. Jamison, a pioneer Wahpeton merchant came to Wahpeton. In 1884, Mrs. Quick came with him. She has made her home here ever since.
She was married Nov. 27, 191 to Dr. J.V. Quick at her home. She is survived by her husband, two step-daughters, Ms. Hazel Falley of Bismarck and Mrs. John Tribka., Seattle, Wash., her sister-in-law Mrs. W. W. Jamison, Wahpeton, three nieces Mrs. Arch Davis, Oakes, Mrs. George D. Long, Moline, Ill., and Evelyn Jamison, Wahpeton, nephew, Robert Jamison of Mountainside, N.J. A brother of Dr. Quick, H. B. Quick, Fargo, is in Wahpeton assisting with funeral arrangements.Services for Mrs. Quick will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock from Schmitt & Olson chapel here. Rev. Hartman will officiate at the services and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers will be S. H. Murray, C. V Ramstad, William Farnsworth, A. W. Hoppert, H.H. Rustad and R. L. Hawes.
