Obituary
H. Syverson Rites Planned In Wahpeton
Funeral services for Henry Syverson, 63, who died Wednesday evening of a heart condition from which he had suffered for several years will be held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from Bethel Lutheran church.
Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening at Vertin Funeral Home.
Henry Syverson was born at Walcott, Oct 30, 1895, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Syver Syverson. He attended school at Galchutt and later worked in Montana in construction. He enlisted in the U. S. army Dec, 15, 1917 at Glasgow, Mont., and served overseas seeing action at St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonna Toul and Verdun. He was discharged at Camp Dodge, IA
He married Swanhild Johnson Oct. 22, 1930 at Dwight. They lived there until 1935 when they came to Wahpeton. Mr. Syverson had been a custodian at the local public school nearly twenty years, resigning due to his health a few years ago.
He leaves his wife, two sons, Arlen, of Starbuck, Minn., and Ronald, Minneapolis and one grandson. There are also two brothers, Severin, of Dwight and Hilmer of Minneapolis and three sisters, Mathilda Sletten and Mrs. Robert Enochson, of this city; Mrs. Sophie Sargeant of Hood River, Ore.
He was a member of Bethel Lutheran church and of the American Legion. Rev. P.A. Gisvold will officiate at funeral services at the church and there will be military rites. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
