Body of Evelyn Sanck Brought Here For Burial Former Wahpeton Girl Dies at Chicago After Short Illness, Mother in Serious Condition
Miss Ellie Sanck died in her hospital bed at Chicago Sunday following a brief illness. Remains were shipped to Wahpeton for interment. Services were held from Schmitt & Olson’s funeral parlors Wednesday afternoon. Rev R. J. Becker pastor of the Emmanuel church officiated.
Evelyn was born March 9th, 1912 in Wahpeton. She was reared in this city and was educated in the local schools. In 1925 she was confirmed at the Emmanuel church. Later she moved to Hankinson, Valley City, and then into Iowa. A short time after that she moved to Chicago with her mother, he father having died her in 1924.
Interment was made in the Fairview cemetery in the family lot beside her father. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Cregor and three brothers. Only one brother was able to be present at the services, he accompanied the remains to Wahpeton. Her mother is seriously ill.
