Heber Sansom To Be Buried Tuesday

Former Wahpeton Man Passes Away in Phoenix, Arizona, August 17th

Wahpeton relatives and friends received word Sunday, August 17th of the sudden passing of Heber Sansom at his home in Phoenix, Ariz. He had been ill over a period of years suffering from tuberculosis. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon from the Bethel Lutheran Church. Rev. P. A. Gisvold will preach the services. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery.

Heber Franklin Sansom was born near Wahpeton, February 8, 1893. At the age of one year his mother passed away. His father then returned with his two sons, Jack and Heber to the city and land of his birth, London, Eng. Mr. Sansom lived in England until he was 17 years of age at which time he again returned to the states. The marriage of Heber Sansom to Miss Vera Beach, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Beach took place April 9, 1915 at Wahpeton. The happy couple started out on their journey through life on the farm on which he was born. His wife passed away September 17, 1923. Six years later Mr. Sansom married Miss Martha Thompson, the date of this marriage being Nov. 9, 1929 and the marriage took place at San Haven.

Mr. and Mrs. Sansom made their home at San Haven until last fall when they moved to Phoenix chiefly because of Mr. Samson’s health.

During his residence in Wahpeton Mr. Sansom was a member of the local I.O.O. F. and the Masonic order at Dunseith. This membership he has retained. He was also rural mail carrier over one of the local R. F. D. routes for about five years. Many Wahpeton friends will remember Mr. Sansom as an exceptionally competent and trustworthy person. He was honorable in all of his dealings and respected and held in high regard by a large circle of friends.

Left to survive are his wife of Phoenix, Ariz., his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Sansom and his sister, Miss Mae Sansom of Hemsel Hempstead, England; daughters, Mrs. Harry Hulse of Midwest, Wyo.; Dorothy Mae and son Jack Robert of Bemidji, Minn., and daughter Phyllis June of Breckenridge, and a granddaughter, Sue Ann Hulse.
