Obituary
L. Schennum Dies At Home in City Thanksgiving Day
Funeral to be Held Saturday or Monday from Bethel Lutheran Church
Louis Schennum, a resident of this county for 40 years, died at his home at 119 Utah Avenue at 4:45 a.m. Thanksgiving day, will be buried at 2:30 either Saturday or Monday afternoon from the Bethel Lutheran church here with Rev. J. C. Wisnaes officiating. Mr. Schennum had been ill for four years but was in better health when he was stricken fatally ill.
Louis Schennum was born Nov. 27, 1874 in Norway, and came to America when a fourteen year old boy. He made his home in Chicago and two years later moved to the Dwight vicinity where he lived until he came to Wahpeton. He had been in this vicinity for 40 years.
In October, 36 years ago, he was married to Betsey Johnson, Dwight, who survives him together with his children, Mrs. Ernest Hodel, Wahpeton; Mrs. Omar Groves, Breckenridge; Mrs. Orville Nold, Breckenridge; Clifford Shennum, Milwaukee, and Leonard Curtis and Elaine, Wahpeton.
He is also survived by his brothers, Martin, Minneapolis; Elaf Andrew and Jens, Chicago and Carl and Christ, in Norway. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Wahpeton.
