Obituary
Mrs. Schoeneck Funeral Friday
Mrs. William P. Schoeneck, 71, of Wahpeton died Wednesday in St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge. The funeral was held Friday in the United Church of Christ with the Rev. William Dreyer Jr. conducting the service. Mrs. Vernon Hektner was the organist and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Hans were the vocolists. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Casket bearers were Clayton Hasty, Alfred Baldner, Calmer Carlson, Howard Rothwell, Glenn Hoppert and Warren Schuett.
Cecile Powrie was born Oct. 30, 1899, at Wahpeton, the daughter of John and Lucy (Leshovsky) Powrie. She was graduated from Valley City State College and also attended Moorhead State College and the University of Minnesota at Duluth. She married William P. Schoeneck on Nov. 28, 1943.
She taught at Tyler, Mooreton and Bucyrus, N.D.. before coming to Wahpeton where she taught 40 years.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ, North Dakota Retired Teachers Association, North Dakota Education Association, a charter member of the Fortnightly Club, and the Business and Professional Women's Aid of her church.
She is survived by her husband; a sister, Mrs. Maria (Beatrice) Beeson of Ottertail, Minn.; a nephew and a niece, Maris Beeson Jr of Omaha, Nebr., and Mrs. David Frees of LeSueur, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1957 and her mother in 1966.
