Obituary

Schoeneck Rites Held Thursday in Wahpeton

Rev. Henry Fry officiated at the funeral services Thursday afternoon in Immanuel Lutheran church here for Edwin R. Schoeneck, 56, of rural Wahpeton. Mr. Schoeneck died Monday following a heart attack.

Chapel services were held Wednesday at 9 p.m., in Vertin – was in Fairview Cemetery here.

Pallbearers were Reinhard Awe, Ruse Meyer, Robert Matt, Gilbert Wettstein, George L Holtususen and Reinhard Stein. Born near Wahpeton Nov. 25, 1902, Mr. Schoeneck worked on his father’s farm until 1931 when he moved to Wahpeton. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad until a year ago when he returned to the family farm. He had never married. Surviving are his mother Mrs. Ernest (Alvina) Schoeneck; seven brothers, William, Alvin, Henry and Rudolph, all of Wahpeton, August of Springfield, Ohio, Ernest of Seattle, and Robert of Minneapolis, and three sister, Mrs. Adolph Novotny, Breckenridge, Minn., Mrs. Carl Johnson, Minneapolis and Mrs. Orris Morken, Walcott.
