Obituary
George Schroeder Rites Tuesday
George Schroeder, 74, of Wahpeton died Saturday. Funeral services will be at 2 Tuesday in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton. The Rev. Edward J. Rutter will officiate. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Delmer Zentgraf, David Stein, Alvin Schoeneck, Lloyd Zentgraf, Rudolph Schoeneck and Ralph Schroeder.
A prayer service will he held at 9:00 p.m. Monday (tonight) in Vertin’s-Wahpeton East Chapel.
Mr. Schroeder was born August 28, 1893, the son of August and Wilhelmia Schroeder at Fairmount. He attended local schools and parochial school in Great Bend. He farmed in that area and on Nov. 12, 1919, he married Nora Stein at Hankinson. The have resided in Wahpeton since their marriage.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion. He had been employed by the Wahpeton Laundry until his retirement nine years ago.
Surviving are one son and one daughter, Alfred, Mountain View, Calif., and Mrs. Donald (Betty) Foster, Brownsdale, Minn.; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Albert of Fairmount; Paul, Sheyboygan, Wisc.; Rudolph, Mrs. Ernest (Alvina) Schoeneck and Mrs. Ernest Bohn, all of Wahpeton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nov. 27, 1966; his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
