Obituary

MANY FRIENDS ATTEND FUNERAL OF PIONEER Jacob Schweitzer, Veteran Carpenter Was Resident of This City for 42 Years Funeral services for Jacob Schweizer , 68, veteran carpenter and resident of Wahpeton for 42 years, held at St. peter’s Evangelical church Wednesday morning were attended by many friends. Floral offerings were numerous. Burial was in Fairview cemetery. Mr. Schweizer was born in Switzerland. He came to America when 26 years old, settling first in the Fergus Falls community, removing here shortly after. He is survived by his widow, one daughter – Mrs. Fred Rigge of Dogden, N. D. – and two sons, Henry and Herman Schweitzer of this city. Mr. Schweitzer’s death occurred Sunday night, coming after half a year’s suffering from a complication of ailments. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Kissling of Barnesville. Pallbearer’s were Charles G. Bade, A. Hodel, Ernest Brunner, Peter Brand, all of this city; Louis Gewalt, Breckenridge; Emil B. Braun, Rothsay, Minn.
