Cecil Simonson

Services for Mrs. Andrew (Cecil) Simonson, 71, Wahpeton, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton. She died Wednesday at Phoenix, Ariz. Rev. Martin L. Hartmann will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening in Vertin's of Wahpeton East Chapel. There will also be visitation at the church for one hour prior to services.

Casket bearers are Nick Jaeger, George Ginanakos, Kenneth Berndt, John Simonson, Jeff Halgunseth and Arthur Johnson.

Cecil Anderson was born Dec. 4, 1906 at Dwight, N.D., to Gilbert and Marie Anderson. She grew up in the Dwight area and attended local schools.

She married Andrew Anderson on Oct. 1, 1923 at Bessemer, Mich. The couple lived in Wahpeton and Hankinson. He died Aug. 4, 1954.

She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Mildred) McManigle, Mrs. Gerald (Darlene) Dickerson, both of Phoenix; Mrs. Robert (Gloria) Halgunseth, St. Paul, Mrs. Leon (Mary) Gebro, Fairmount, N.D., and Mrs. Catherine Birchem, Wahpeton; three sons, Donald, Breckenridge, Kenneth, St. Paul, and Roy, Wahpeton; one brother Neuman Anderson, Minneapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Clifford (Gladys) Johnson, Wyndmere; Mrs. Nick (Myrtle) Jaeger, Hankinson; and Mrs. Ruby Jorgenson, California; 33 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, and two infant sons.
