Obituary
Milton Peter Sletten, 85, Wahpeton, died Friday, March 7, 2003, in St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton.
Mr. Sletten was born May 13, 1917, in Wahpeton, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1936. He graduated from North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, with a degree in business administration. He worked as office manager for Wahpeton Pottery. From 1941 to 1945, he served in the U.S. Army. On July 25, 1945, he married Constance Floyd in Columbia, S.C. In 1946, they moved to Wahpeton, where he worked for Lillegard Chevrolet. In 1948, he opened Sletten Motors Co and operated the firm until 1972. He managed Sunset Mobile Home Park and was a district representative for The Forum. He managed the parts and accessories department for Thompson Motor Homes, Jamestown, N.D. He returned to Wahpeton and worked for the North Dakota Grain Inspection Service until 1979, when he became Richland County veterans service officer. He retired in 1990.
He is survived by his wife; a son, David (Kathy), Boise, Idaho; three daughters, Barbara (Denny) Fisher, Forest Lake, Minn., Bonnie Sletten, Boise, Diana (Duane) Finnie, Wahpeton; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and 18 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday from 4 to 8, with a prayer service at 7, in Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, and one hour before the funeral in the church.
