Obituary
ALVA A. SMITH, 74, IS DEAT AT FARM HOME Came to Richland County in 1915 and Farmed 4 Miles From Wahpeton Alva A. Smith, 74, living 4 miles northwest of Wahpeton, died at his farm home Wednesday afternoon of dropsy.
Mr. Smith was born at Clay Pigeon, Ind., May 16, 1852, and came to Wahpeton in 1915, settling upon the farm on which he lived until his death. He is survived by his widow and seven sons; Ernest, Edward, Earl, Archie and Harry, living in or near Wahpeton; Samuel at Fargo and William at Breckenridge. Funeral services will be held at the farm home at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, the Rev. C. F. Dunham officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
