EDGAR SMITH IS DEAD AFTER LONG ILLNESS Retired Farmer, 63 Years Old, Died at His Home Here Sunday; Rites to be Held Thursday
Edgar Smith, 63 years old, resident of Wahpeton since 1919 when he retired from farming, died Sunday at his home, 124 Iowa avenue, after a long illness. At noon yesterday arrangements for the funeral of Mr .Smith had not been completed but Thursday had been set aside as the day. Mr. Smith, who is survived by his wife and one son, Glenn I. Smith, was born at Ottawa, Illinois, June 25, 1860. Following marriage to Miss Lydia Annette Bowman in 1888, he lived on a farm near Lewis, Iowa, until 1914, when with his family he came to Richland county, settling on the A. H. Burnson farm 5 ½ miles northwest of this city. Moving from the farm, the family lived for two years in Breckenridge and took up residence in Wahpeton four years a
