Services Will Be Wednesday Afternoon

Robert James Stevens, 9, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stevens, Wahpeton died at his home here Sunday afternoon, having been ill for a long time. Death was caused by a blood disease.

Funeral services will be from Foss Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. with Rev. C. H. Meier officiating and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Vertin Funeral Home in Wahpeton will be in charge of the service.

Robert James Stevens was born August 8, 1937, at St. Francis hospital in Breckenridge, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stevens of the U.S. Indian school faculty. The little fellow spent his boyhood in Wahpeton, attending the public school here and was in the fourth grade at the time of his death. He attended school regularly up until a year ago but this past year he had been absent to receive treatment for his illness.

Everything that could be done was done for Robert. His father and mother had taken him to several specialists in other cities but his condition was such that he could not be saved by medical skill

Robert James Stevens is survived by his father and mother and one sister Phyllis, age 5, his two grandmothers Mrs. Clifford Bayemore, Monticello, Ga. and Mrs. Cora Stevens, Osgood, Ga.
