Obituary
Nick Stitz, 71, Dies Friday
Funeral services were held Monday (today) at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge for Nick Stitz, 71, of Wahpeton, who died in Breckenridge Friday. The Rev. Frederick Kampsen officiated. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton.
Mr. Stitz was born at Carroll, Iowa, Dec. 8, 1896, and came to Breckenridge as a young boy. He had been employed by the Northern Pacific Railroad and was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way. He retired in 1963 after nearly 40 years service with the railroad.
He is survived by three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Guy (Mae) Paullin, Mrs. Bernie (Grace) Pelvit and Mrs. Robert (DeVota) Donnelly, all of Breckenridge, and George of Chicago, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Stitz; two brothers, Sylvester and Joe Stitz; and one sister, Mrs. Oscar (Minnie) Nelson.
