Obituary

Albert Sturma, 90, Once City Resident, Dies

Albert T. Sturma, 90, former employee of the Milwaukee railroad and Otterail Power company here, died Wednesday at the home of a daughter Mrs. Fred (Mary) LaCroix, at Hoquiam, Wash. He left Wahpeton after the death of his wife in July, 1944 and had lived with his daughter since.

He was born April 23, 1861, in Czecheslovakia, where he had attended schools and grew to manhood. He was married to Mary Hainzel there in 1886 and seven years later the couple emigrated from their home country to the United States. They lived for sometime at Chicago, Jackson, Minn., and Veblen, S. Dak., before coming to Wahpeton in 1923.

He was employed first at the Milwaukee railroad and later with the Ottertail Power company before he retired in 1941.

He also leaves three sons, Frank of Oklahoma City, Okla., Charles of Fargo and William of Wahpeton; a daughter, Mrs. Carrie Prokes of Jackson; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Vertin chapel here, who are in charge of the arrangements. Time of the service has not been set. Interment will be made in Fairview cemetery beside his wife.
