Obituary
Mrs. Mary Sturma Rites Thursday
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Sturma were held from the Vertin Funeral Chapel here in Wahpeton on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. Rev. P.A. Gisvold officiated. Burial was made in the Fairview cemetery. Pall bearers were Joseph H. Dietz, N.O. Jones, Harry Grinager, Art Forman, Archie Beaumont and Calmer Carlson.
Mrs. Mary Sturma, nee Mary Hanzel, was born in Treboin, Czechoslovakia, May 25th, 1862. She was married to Albert Sturma in Czechoslovakia on September 27, 1886. In 1892 she came to America with her husband and made her home in Chicago. She moved to Jackson, Minn., shortly afterward and then on to Veblen, S. Dak., and in 1923 she came to Wahpeton where she had made her home until her death. She leaves to mourn, her husband, Albert Sturma, two daughters, Carrie, Mrs. Joseph Prokes, and Mary, Mrs. Fred LeCroix, and three sons, Frank Sturma of Lincoln, Nebr., Charles Sturma of Fargo N. Dak., and William Sturma Wahpeton.
Two daughters, Catherine and Josephine preceded her in death.
On June 5th, Mrs. Sturma was taken to the St. Marys hospital here where she remained up to the time of her death.
