Obituary

Mrs. Hilda Sundby Rites Held Here

Rev. Marvin L. Hartmann officiated at funeral services held today (Monday) at Bethel Lutheran Church for Mrs. Oswald (Hilda) Sundby, 71, a former city resident.

Mrs. Sundby died Wednesday at Charleston, S. D. He had been living with her son, Donald in Charleston.

Hilda Lahren was born at Walcott, Nov. 2, 1894, and had lived at Breckenridge while her husband was employed by the Great Northern Railway. He died in 1932.

She was employed by Lieber’s Store for many years here until moving to California and later South Carolina.

She leaves two sons and two daughters, Byron and Donald, both Charleston; Mrs. Thomas (Helen) Short Arcadia Calif.; Mrs. Robert (Doris) Wheeler, Monrovia, Calif. Seven brothers and sisters, Harry Lahren, Williston N.D.; Mrs. Walter (Nine) Carlson, Wahpeton; Arnold, Walcott; Mrs. Andrew (Ann) Bjerkager, Abercrombie, N.D.; Mrs. E. T. (Agnes) Johnson and Mrs. Ernest (Edith) Rydell, both Fargo; and Mrs. Clark (Irene) Williams, New Rockford. N.D.

Vocalist was Mrs. Charles Flaa with Mrs. Vernon Hektner as organist.

Pallbearers were Kermit Lee, Virgil Lee, Roger Lee, Alan Carlson, Arnold Lahren Jr. and Kenneth Lee.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.

Vertin’s Wahpeton was in charge of local arrangements.
