Oscar I. Sunby, Wahpeton, Dies; Services Today
Funeral services for Oscar I. Sunby, 83, Wahpeton will be at 1:30 Thursday. Rev. Loyal Golf officiating. He died at St. Francis Hospital, Monday.
He was born in Lisbon, N.D., March 28, 1882, and married Minda Garder there June 26, 1908. They lived for a time in Montana and at Enderlin, N.D., and then moved to Princeton, Minn., returning to Enderlin in 1918. He retired in 1947 from 32 years of service with the Soo Line Railway. The couple moved to Wahpeton when they retired.
He leaves his wife; two sons and two daughters, Charles R. Sunby, Fargo; Melvin, Hallock, Minn.; Mrs Herbert (Beatrice) Glander Wahpeton; and Mrs. Olaf (Freda) Karlstad, Sacramento, Calif.
There is a sister, Mrs. August (Ida) Seelig, Lisbon; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Organist will be Jessie Lahren and Ralph Graalum vocalist. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
Mr. Sunday was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Pazdernik, Warren Davis, Maurice Frigaard, Clarence Amundson, Stanley Westby, and Claude Fleenor.
Vertin’s Wahpeton were in charge of arrangements.
