Cut Down In Her Prime Mrs. A. E. Sunderhauf Passes Away after a Brief Illness
The community was surprised and shocked, last Saturday morning to hear of the death of Mrs. A. E. Sunderhauf. Her illness had been of only a few days duration, and comparatively few even knew of it. She was a young woman, bright, lively, and vigorous, and death came to her without warning. She was the daughter of Mr. Adolphe Bessie, and came here a young lady with her parents in 1884. Her long residence here made for a large circle of friends and acquaintances, who mourn her sad and untimely end.
Burial services were held at the family residence Sunday afternoon. Pastor W. A. Baker, of the Methodist Church, read from the Scriptures and offered a prayer. Attorney Wolfe for the Knights of Pythins and Mr. Keppler for the Masons delivered brief orations.
The life of deceased may be epitomized as follows: Henriette Helena Sunderhauf, nee Bessie, born June 8, 1867, of Bethany, Ga, came to Wahpeton in May, 1884; married at Wahpeton, October 18, 1884; died January 13, 1900, leaving her surviving six children, the oldest being 13 years, the youngest three years.
The GAZETTE joins with the whole community its deep sympathy for the bereaved family and relatives.
