Obituary
Ivy Swank-1919
MISS IVY SWANK Sunday morning occurred the death of Miss Ivy Swank, daughter of County Commissioner and Mrs. D. D. Swank, at her home in Wahpeton. Miss Swank became ill with tuberculosis some two years ago, and placed in a sanitarium for treatment, which, after more than a year had apparently effected a cure. However, a short time ago another attack of the disease came on, which resulted fatally.
Ivy Swank was twenty-one years of age on December 5, 1918. She was born in Wahpeton, and attended the public schools and the Science School. She was well known and had a host of friends in the city. Private funeral services were held at the Swank home Tuesday afternoon, followed by a public service at the Congregational church, conducted by Rev. F. E. Stillwell. Messrs. Allen Voves, Arnold Forbes, George Holthusen, Edw. R. Maresh, Frank Jocobchick and Albert Bader, all young men friends of the deceased, acted as pall bearers. The remains were laid to rest in Fairview cemetery. Miss Swank is survived by her parents and two sisters. Misses Hazel and Grace Swank, both living at home. Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were H. H. Valker and daughter Eva of Minot, Mrs. H. V. Darth of Minneapolis, Theodore Reiling of St. Paul, and Mrs. John Hesli, of Anoka.
