Obituary
Curtiss Sweigle-1901
Curtiss Sweigle Dead Curtiss Sweigle died at the Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, Friday morning the 9th, after an operation for appendicitis.
Deceased had been ailing for several months and a few weeks ago was at the hospital for treatment, but the physician deferred the operation hoping he could gain a little strength and be returned home, but did not gain as he had hoped and returned for the operation, anyhow. The disease had gone too far however, and he lived but 18 hours after the operation.
The remains were brought home Saturday morning and were buried from the Congregational church Sunday afternoon, with Knight of Pythias and A. O. U. W. honors and sermon by the pastor of that church.
Deceased was a graduate from the law school of the University of Minnesota, and was counted one of the best lawyers in the state, having come to Wahpeton in 1892, where he had built up a lucrative practice.
Was married to Miss Mary Cull of Green Bay, Wisconsin in October, 1899. Deceased had built for himself and family a fine home. A son was born to the family three months ago. Besides the widow and child he leaves his parents and two brothers who mourn his untimely demise. Deceased carried insurance in the A. O. U.W order and other insurance we not know how much.
The deceased last served as Master Workman in the Workman lodge of this year, was the presiding in the Knights of Pythias.
