Obituary
Rites Set For R. G. Sorenson
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 5, at 2 p.m.,-from the Breckenridge Lutheran Church for Rudolph Gustave Sorenson, 72, who died Friday, January 21, at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge. Rev. R. D. Mellum will officiate with burial in Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be today, Monday, through the day and evening at Jos. Vertin & Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Christ Roebuck (Gea), Velva, N.D.; Mrs. Henry Olson (Rosella) Elbow Lake, Minn.; and Mrs. Geo Lundeby (Thelma), St. Paul, Minn.; four brothers Olaf, Erdahl, Minn.; William, Port Orchard, Wash.; Manton, Kalispell, Mont.; Mrs. Art Lehman (Ovedia) Elbow Lake, Minn.; and two brothers, Theodore and George both of Elbow Lake.
Born Nov. 1, 1896 at Elbow Lake he was baptized and confirmed in the Hjerdal Lutheran Church in Pom De Tere township of Grant Co. Minnesota. He entered the service of his country in World War I, August 26, 1918, and was discharged August 9, 1919 from the U. S. medical corps in Camp Grant, Ill. He was married Sept. 22, 1924 to Rose Osmundson, Wahpeton where they lived for several years, before moving to Breckenridge where they made their home the past 35 years.
He was an expert mechanic in woodworking and bricklaying. Most of his work in this area was in bricklaying, working on several large construction jobs in Breckenridge, Wahpeton and surrounding area.
He was a past member of the American Legion.
