Obituary
Rites Held for E. L. Schmidt, 60, Former Resident
Edward L. J. Schmidt, 60, former Wahpeton resident, died Saturday at a Pelican Rapids hospital where he had been a patient about two weeks.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Johnson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, Rev. Richard Einarson officiating. Interment was at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Edward L. J. Schmidt was born May 23, 1903, at Fairmount, the son of Henry and Bertha Schmidt. He live in Wahpeton several years and also in Fergus Falls.
He was married to Annette Schmidt, March 17, 1925. He is survived by his step-daughter, Mrs. Samuel Pierce, Pelican Rapids, Minn., with whom he has made his home the past few months and four grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Frank, Lake City, Minn. A brother, Henry, preceded him in death.
