Obituary
Lance Sannes, 22, St. Paul, MN, formerly Wahpeton, ND, died Sunday, October 16, 2005, at Perham Memorial Hospital, Perham, MN.
Lance G. Sannes was born December 12, 1982, at Breckenridge, MN, the son of Luther and Barb (Olson) Sannes. Lance grew up and attended schools in Wahpeton. He participated in football and baseball and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He graduated from Wahpeton Senior High School in 2001 and then attended the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. At Minnesota he participated in football for four years, being an Academic All Big Ten player. He graduated from the U of M in May of 2005. He has been an accountant for Gandolf Group Real Estate Development, St. Louis Park, MN.
Lance learned to officiate sporting events from his father in high school, and he had continued expanding his experience in college. He had been officiating sports at different levels, and had planned on officiating college sports someday. Lance had a gentle, good natured personality and enjoyed spending time with people. He especially had patience and understanding with children.
Lance is survived by his parents, Luther and Barb, Wahpeton; two sisters, Val and Lindsay, both of Wahpeton; a special friend, Katie Zacharius, Ottertail, MN; godparents, Doug and Louise Olson and Sylvia Rickey, uncles, aunts and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alida and Cy Sannes and Gerald and Dora Olson; and uncle, Robert Rickey.
As an organ/tissue donor, the Sannes family would like to acknowledge that Lance gave the most precious gift anyone could give, the gift to save the lives of his fellow man.
