Henry Schlanser
COLFAX, N.D. - Funeral services for Henry J. Schlanser, 10, were held Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Colfax with Rev. Merton Christensen and Pastor Dale Meligren officiating. Burial was at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Henry died Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital, Fargo, of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident Friday.
Organist was Mrs. John Hudson and special music was provided by Marjorie and Keith Nash.
Honorary casket bearers were Steven Haverland, Paul Ihland, Jeff Bolme, Greg Hull, Scott Bates, Arthur Gunness and his classmates.
Activecasket bearers were Donovan, David, Bradley Hendrickson, Gordie Olson, Larry Ames, and James Hudson.
Henry Schlanser was born Sept. 29, 1964 at Moorhead. He came to Colfax in 1968 and had just completed the fifth grade at Richland 44 at Abercrombie.
He played the trumpet in the band was a member of 4-H and Our Savior's Lutheran Church Sunday School.
He is survived by his parents, Mrs. Hjalmer (Joan) Hendrickson of Colfax and James Schlanser of Fargo; a sister, Andrea Schlanser; a sister and brother, Amy and Chad Hendrickson; Grandparents Mrs. Clarice Skjonsby of Abercrombie, W.O. Skjonsby of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Elsie Boarder of San Francisco, Fred Schlanser of Fargo, and Mrs. Agnes Hendrickson of Wahpeton; and great-grandparents Mrs. Minnie Boyer of West Fargo and Mr. and Mrs. John Skjonsby of Fargo.
Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
