Obituary
A. W. Schultz, 83, Dies Saturday; Rites on Tuesday
Funeral services for August 2. Schultz, 83, Wahpeton, who died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Vertin’s Wahpeton Funeral Home, Rev. F. W. Paul of Hankinson officiating.
He was hospitalized three weeks.
A prayer service will be tonight (Monday) at 8 p.m. from Vertin’s Wahpeton Chapel.
Mr. Schultz was born March 27, 1883, at Winona, Minn. He moved to Lidgerwood area as a child. He was married to Lena Wolff at Lidgerwood March 21, 1907. The couple had farmed at Hankinson from 1931 to 1938 and later a Mantador before coming to Wahpeton in 1944 where he was employed by the park board.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ Evangelical and Reformed, at Lidgerwood.
He leaves his wife; three daughters; Mrs. Paul (Hattie) Winefedt, Wheaton, Minn.; Mrs. John (Esther) Heley and Mrs. Theodore (Pearl) Gast, both Wahpeton; one sister, Mrs. Albert (Minnie) Herman, Hankinson; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers Emil and Robert; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Ebel, Mrs. Marie Wallman, and Mrs. Hannah Schultz.
Organist was Mrs. F. D. Brown and C. B. Cummins was vocalist.
Serving as pallbearers will be Albert Schultz, Lynn Ebel, Harold Schultz, Chester Bohn, Ed Pelzl and Delbert David.
Interment will be in Christus Garden, Fairview Memorial Cemetery.
