Obituary
Richard Schulz Of Wahpeton Dies Saturday
Richard Emil Schulz, 80 of Wahpeton, died Saturday morning in St. Francis Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks. His sister, Mrs. George Krueger of Great Bend, died Thursday and was buried Sunday.
Services fill be at Evangelical United Brethern church in Wahpeton Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Walter Elmer officiating and Schmitt-Poulton Funeral Home in charge. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Wahpeton.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening and Wednesday morning in Schmitt-Poulton Funeral home.
He was born Dec. 11, 1878 at Sandusky, Wis., and came to the Great Bend community in 1884. He attended parochial school at Great Bend and was united in marriage to Anna Kohlhoff, March 20, 1913. They farmed in Mooreton Township until retiring in 1952 when they moved to Wahpeton.
He served on the Mooreton Township board and school board for many years. A son, in infancy, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Anna in Wahpeton; four sons, Wilbur of New Rockford, N.D., Lester of Glencoe, Minn., Gordon and LeRoy of Minneapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Ione) Marincel of Park Ville, Minn., and Mrs. Joe (LeAnn) Bernandy of Fergus Falls; 21 grandchildren.
