Obituary
Mrs. Sether, 66, Dies Here Friday, Funeral Tuesday
Mrs. Robert (Clara) Sether, 66, resident of Wahpeton the past four years, died Friday here.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Bethel Lutheran church here of which she was a member. The Rev. P.A. Gisvold will officiate and interment will be made in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Vertin Funeral Home of Wahpeton is handling funeral arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Hans Syvertsen, Earl Kurtz, Manley Larson, Roy Bagg, Arthur Gunness and Carl Dahl. Clara Gunness, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ingebrigt Gunness, was born February 6, 1892 in Abercrombie where she attended local schools and grew to young womanhood. She later attended NDA at Fargo and taught schools a few years before enrolling at the nursing school at Northwestern hospital in Minneapolis.
She married Mr. Sether of Mooreton at Duluth, Minn., December 22, 1920 and they resident at Mooreton for several years where he operated a grain elevator. They also lived at Leith, N.D., Fargo and Galchutt. Mr. Sether died November 8, 1957. Mr. Sether had died November 8, 1957. Mrs. Sether had resided at the Wahpeton Nursing home the past four years.
Surviving are a son, Irvine, of Casper, Wyo., a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Carol) Schmelzel, also of Casper; six sisters, Mrs. John Statne of Seattle, wash., Mrs. Henry Utreg of Tomah, Wis., Mrs. J. Irving Larson of Dwight, Mrs. Wiliam Quine of Wahpeton, Mrs. John McLennan of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Miss Emma Gunness of Wahpeton; two brothers, Olaf of Wahpeton and Chester of Valley City, N. D.
Mrs. Sether worked as a nurse at the Bethany Rest Home in Fargo from 1945-1953.
