Funeral Rites Held Today for Ejnar N. Sorenson, 59

Funeral services for Ejnar N. Sorensen, 59, Wahpeton, were held today, Monday in the Bethel Lutheran church at Wahpeton. Mr. Sorensen died Thursday morning in a local hospital.

Rev. Loyal E Golf officiated at the services and interment will be in Fairview Cemetery later this spring.

Mr. Sorensen was born in Randers, Denmark, Feb. 9, 1902. He came to the United States at age 19. He attended the Pillsbury Academy at Owatonna, Minn., where he studied business and music.

He married Bernice Johnson at rand Forks, N. D., Aug. 8, 1944. He was employed as a traveling salesman in the Grand Forks area before coming to Wahpeton in 1953.

He was employed at the John Deere Implement in Breckenridge for several years and later worked as a machinery salesman. He has been in ill health for the past year.

Mr. Sorensen was a member of the Grand Forks Elks Lodge, the Bethel Lutheran church and the Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge in Wahpeton.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Carol, of St. Paul, and a sister, Mrs. Nils (Agness) Lien of Owatonna. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son. Mrs. Sorensen operates the Wahpeton Beauty Salon.

Serving as pallbearers were Henry Dickraff, Earl Robinson, William Karst, Norman Buslee, Henry Bisom, and Fred Dencker. Mr. and Mrs. James Horton were vocalist and the organist. The Vertin-Schmitt and Poulton Funeral home of Wahpeton was in charge of arrangement.
