Obituary
Manfred Standy, Area Farmer, Dies Wednesday
Manfred Standy, 59, Wahpeton farmer and lifelong Richland county resident, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Vertin’s-Wahpeton Chapel, Rev. Walter D. Elmer and Rev. Everald Strom officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
There will be visitation Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday until time of services at Vertin’s-Wahpeton Funeral Home.
There will be a prayer service Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Chapel.
Manfred Standy was born in Viking township near Wyndmere May 9, 1904, the son of Mikkle and Jonette Standy.
He was married to Judith Hanson May 9, 1931 at Wahpeton. They farmed in Viking township until 1946 when they moved to their present farm home in Center township.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Donald, Wahpeton, and seven sisters, Mrs. Nels (Clarice)Bakken, Miles City, Mont; Mrs. Clyde (Juliette) Knutson, Bridge Crest, Calif.; Mrs. Ronald (Helen) Graham, Santa Barbara, Calif.; Mrs. Tye (Alice) Graham, Eugene, Ore.; Miss Greta Standy, Santa Barbara; Miss Ruby Standy Milwaukee, Wis and Mrs. Roy (Verna) Adams Bridge Crest.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Vocalist will be Roland Nies and organist will be Mrs. Donald Gripentrog. Pallbearers will be Jubert Malme, Roger Slotten, Helmer Stenberg, Carl Freestad, Clifford Strandberg, Arthur Scheer and Sigurd Hogan.
