Obituary

Mrs. Stoltenow

Mrs. Jojn (Herta) Stoltenow, 68, died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton, with the Rev. Edward J. Rutter officiating.

Organist will be Stanley Strege with special music by Alvin Ambach and Lorenz Tritten.

Visitation will be Monday at Vertin's Funeral Home-Wahpeton with a prayer service at 8 p.m. in the chapel and one hour prior to the service Tuesday.

Casket bearers are Clarence Bladow, Coleman Morris, Jr., Marvin O. Anderson, Don Stewart, Clarence Seibel, and George M. James.

Mrs. Stoltenow was born March 25, 1904 in Hankinson to Franz and Helen (Binder) Medenwaldt.

At the ago of nine her family moved to the Sonora community where she attended the local school. She married John Stoltenow Oct. 7, 1921 in Hankinson. They farmed near Great Bend until 1946 when they moved to Wahpeton.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton. Her husband was former custodian at Wahpeton High School and Metropolitan.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Jerome (Mildred) Meide; one grandson, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Gust ( Anna) Hubris, Wahpeton; Mrs. Ben (Alma) Stoltenow, Lester Prairie, Minn.; Mrs. Carl (Margaret) Paul, Lake Elma, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
