Obituary
R. F. Stoltenow Dies; Funeral At Great Bend
Reinhold F. Stoltenow, 65, rural Wahpeton, died Saturday at St Francis Hospital where he had been a patient for two days. The funeral will be at 2 Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church at Great Bend with the Rev. Raymond Albrecht officiating. Special music will be the church choir of which he was a member and Mrs. Herbert Weiss will be the organist. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday (today) afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 9 p.m. at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to services.
Casket bearers will be Darrell and Curtis Stoltenow, Wayne Keenan, Barry Baker, Gregory Boetcher and Elroy Koppelman.
Mr. Stoltenow was born Jan. 12, 1906, at Great Bend, the son of John and Lena (Gehler) Stoltenow. He attended local schools at Great Bend. He married Alice Boetcher June 14, 1928, in Trinity Lutheran Church where he was also baptized and confirmed. The couple farmed in Mooreton Township for 40 years. Mrs. Stoltenow died June 22, 1968.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Choir and had served as trustee and treasurer, was a director of the Farmers Mill and Elevator, was a member of the school board and served as clerk of Mooreton Township.
He is survived by a son and daughter, Charles, Vancouver, Wash.; Mrs. Gordon (Mavis) Jackson, Stone Mountain, Ga.; Five brothers and five sisters, Herbert, Fairmount, N.D., Elmer and Ernst, both of Great Bend; Arthur, Litchfield, Minn.; Gilbert, Mrs. Otto (Viola) Klawitter, Mrs. Raymond (Elaine) Hentz, all of Hankinson, N.D.; Mrs. Ralph (Emily) Keenan, Wyndmere, Mrs. Clara Hoyern, California, and Mrs. Elroy (Doris) Gutzmer, Wahpeton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one brother and one sister.
