Obituary
Dennis Thiele of Wahpeton Dies Monday
Dennis Walter Thiele, 28 of Wahpeton died early Monday morning in a Fargo Veteran’s hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Evangelical United Brethren church in Wahpeton with Rev. Walter Elmer officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Wahpeton. American Legion rites will be held at graveside.
Dennis Thiele, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Thiele of Great Bend was born Feb. 1, 1932 at Great Bend. He attended local schools and came to Wahpeton in 1951 where he was employed by Leach and Gamble. He was married June 15, 1952 to Joyce Hauge at Great Bend.
He entered the U.S. Army in October of 1952 and served in Germany and France. He returned to Wahpeton in 1954 where he worked as bulk gas truck operator until 1959 when poor health forced his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, David, 5, and Donald, 4, his parents, three brothers, Elden of Great Bend, Everett of Fairmount and Noble of Foxhome, four sisters, Sandra, Barbara, Judy and Lori, all at home. He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister.
Friends may call at the Vertin-Schmitt and Poulton Funeral Home, South Chapel, Tuesday afternoon and evening.
