Marie Thimjon

Funeral services for Mrs. Marvin (Marie) Thomson, 53, of Wahpeton will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Wahpeton with Rev. Edward J. Rutter officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Thimjon died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge.

Visitation wil be Friday afternoon and evening at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home east chapel with a prayer service at 8:30 p.m. There will also be visitation at the church prior to the services.

Special music will be provided by Tilford Krothus.

Honorary casket bearers will be Roy Stelton, Calmer Carlson, Joe Hanson, Dan Tehle, Monrad Rakstad, Earl Stein, Orvel Holthusen, and Don Berg.

Active casket bearers will be Donovan and Robert Buck, Dwaine McRoberts, Duane Thimjon, Dennis Olson and Gary Greenheck.

Marie Buck was born May 1, 1921 at Wahpeton to Richard and Mary (Zentgraf) Buck and grew up and was educated in local schools.

After her marriage to Marvin Thimjon the couple lived in Wahpeton where he is employed by Otter Tail Power Co. She has worked the past ten years as a cook at Wahpeton High School.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Ronald of Breckenridge, Robert of New Brighten, Minn., and Steven, Wahpeton High School; four daughters, Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Carivau, Los Angeles; Mrs. John (Janet) Nermoe, Moorhead; Mrs. Jeff (JoAnne) Dietz, Glen Ellyn, Ill.; and Julie, a student at Concordia College, St. Paul; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin and John of Wahpeton and Rudolph of St. Louis Park, Minn.; and three sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Aurette) Shores of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Viola Asbury of San Diego, and Mrs. Lester (Darlene) Vogeler of Mooreton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
