Gordon Thimjon
WAHPETON - The funeral for Gordon H. Thomson, 61, of rural Wahpeton will be at 11 Saturday in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton with the Rev. Edward J. Rutter officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Thimjon died Tuesday.
An earlier story in the Daily News incorrectly stated that he died Monday.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home.
Casket bearers will be Donald, Ronald and Darrell Thomson, Albert Romereim, and Clarence and Allen Leshovsky.
Mr. Thimjon was born July 17, 1911, in Summitt Township, rural Wahpeton, the son of Louis and Margaret (Holthusen) Thomson. He grew up and attended school in Wahpeton. He married Doris Leshovsky July 17, 1937. The couple farmed in Richland and Wilkin Counties following their marriage. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Duane of Wahpeton, Dale of Barnesville; four grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters, Marvin and Mrs. Clyde (Ethel) Olson, both of Wahpeton, Harry of Breckenridge, Walter of Foxhome, Wilfred of Lisbon and Mrs. Wilfred (Myrtle) Greenback of Pillager, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his father on Feb. 1 and his mother on Feb. 5 of this year.
