Roy Thompson

Services for Roy Thompson, 78, formerly of Breckenridge, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Eugene Floistad officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.

Mr. Thompson died Thursday at Ft. Collins, Colo., where he has been a resident of a nursing home for the past year.

Visitation will be Tuesday until time of services at the chapel. There will be no prayer service.

Roy Thompson was born May 26, 1899 at Farwell, Minn. to Anna and Henry Thompson. He attended local schools and served in the Army during World War I.

He married Mayme Nicely June 4, 1926 at Cyrus, Minn., where he worked as a carpenter. He moved to Morris, Minn., in 1941 then to Minneapolis. In 1958 he moved to Breckenridge where he managed apartments for his son. Mrs. Thompson died June 22, 1975.

He was a member of Breckenridge Lutheran Church.

Survivors are a son, Howard of West Fargo; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Robin, of Sterling, S.D.; and two sisters, Mrs. Martin (Pearl) Beck and Mrs. Carl (Carmel) Anderson, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.
