Clarence Twedt
WAHPETON - Clarence Twedt, 60, of Wahpeton died Friday at his home of an apparent heart attack. The funeral was held Tuesday in Bethel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert A. Olson officiating. Mrs. Horace Lahren was the organist. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Casket bearers were Ronald Simmons, Harold Thrane, Lloyd Keech, Palmer Marohl, Roman Berg and James Johnson.
Mr. Twedt was born at Walcott July 3, 1912, the son of Christ and Anna (Braaten) Twedt. He was reared at Kindred and married Ruth Simmons Nov. 19, 1937. The couple lived at Kindred, where he was employed by the Burlington Northern Railway since 1942. The couple moved to Wahpeton in 1954 where he worked for the railway and also in construction work and the City of Wahpeton. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. DeWayne (Betty) Holthusen of Willmar, Minn., Mrs. Terry (Carol) Sturdevant of Wahpeton; two grandchildren, John and Robin Holthusen of Willmar; two sisters and two brothers, Inga, Lena, and Iver, all of Fargo, and C. Alvin of Havre, Mont.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Tilla.
