Pioneer Wilkin County Man Is Buried Here
A. O. Vik Buried in Fairview Cemetery this (Thursday) Afternoon
Abraham Olson Vik, resident of Wilkin county for a number of years, died at his home at 5:30 Saturday afternoon. Death followed a paralytic stroke.
He was born in Holmedal near Bergen, Norway, December 30, 1861. He came to America when he was seventeen years old. In the year of 1891, he was united in marriage to Miss Caroline Gunderson, St. James Watanwan county. The marriage took place July 4th.
Coming to Wilkin county, Mr. and Mrs. Vik settled on a farm eight miles northeast of Everdell where they have made their home for 13 years. They later purchased the farm on which he was residing at the time of his death.
Abraham Vik has been ailing for the past two years with heart disease. He was a patient in a Fergus Falls hospital for two months. While there he had his first stroke. He recovered sufficiently and returned to his home where he spent the remainder of his days.
He was the victim of a second stroke Saturday morning and passed away a few hours later.
Left to mourn his loss, are six children, his wife and a son having preceded him in death many year ago. The children are Ole Vik, Foxhome, Mrs. Fred Knudson of Alberta, Candada, Mrs. Percy Barringer, Minnie and Clara Vik on the home place. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Sophia England of Clayton, Wisconsin and a brother, Kornelius Vik of St. Paul, also several nephews and grandchildren.
Funeral service were held from the Vertin Funeral chapel this (Thursday) afternoon and at 2:30 from the Bethel Lutheran church with Rev. J. C. Wisnaes conducting the service. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery in the family lot.

Funeral services for Abraham Olson Vik, resident of Nelson township near Everdell, Wilkin county, will be held from the Norwegian Lutheran church in Wahpeton at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, Reverend Wisnaes officiating. The interment will be in Fairview cemetery.
Mr. Vik has been ill for a long time, finally succumbing to a hear attack. His wife passed away April 25, 1921. Mr. Vik died at 5:30 Saturday afternoon. He is survived by six children, Ole Vik, Foxhome, Mrs. Fred Knudson, Irma, Alberta, Mrs. G. M. Peterson, Edmunton, Sask., Mrs. Percy Barringer, Breckenridge, and Misses Minnie and Clara Vik of Breckenridge.
Abraham Olson Vik was born in Norway, December 30, 1861 and came to this country as a boy of seventeen. He was married 39 years ago on July fourth at St. James. He has been a resident of Wilkin county for more than thirty years.
