Obituary

G. L. Van Cleve, 37, Dies Sunday; Rites To Be Thursday

Gerald L. Van Cleve, 37, lifelong Richland County resident, died Sunday evening at his farm home in Summit Township after an extended illness. Funeral services will be at 2 Thursday from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ben H. Fadenrecht officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening and Thursday morning at Vertin’s Wahpeton chapel and at the church from 1 until 2 p.m.

Mr. Van Cleve was born in Wahpeton Sept. 24, 1928. He attended local schools here and was raised here. He married Kay Carr Dec 29, 1950 at New Market, Ind., and they farmed in Summit Township.

He was a pilot in the Civil Air Patrol and was commander of the local unit.

Surviving are his wife, Kay; sons, Leroy and Terry at home; one daughter Sandra at home; his father, Geroge of Wahpeton; one brother Hubert of Miller, S. Oak.; and one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Lois) Petterson of Wahpeton. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1955.

Serving as pallbearers will be Albert Romereim, Floyd Swenson, Norman Kubela, James Jirak, Melvin Wefel and Carl Glander.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
