Obituary
Bertha Witzke
Services for Bertha Witzke, 79, Fairmount, N.D., will be at 2 Tuesday at First English Lutheran Church, Fairmount with Rev. Bruce Holstein officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton. She died Friday evening at her home.
Visitation is Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday morning until 11 at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel. There will also be visitation at the church for the hour prior to services.
Bertha Lohse was born June 3, 1899. As a young girl she came to the United State settling in the Chicago area. On Jan. 31, 1925 she married Henry Witzke at Chicago. The couple moved to the Fairmount area and farmed in Summit Township until retirement in 1959. He died on Aug. 7, 1973.
She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son, Edward, Bethel, Minn., two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Elsie) Krause, Fairmount; Mrs. Sylvester (Dorothy) Krause, Braham, Minn.; one brother, Albert Lohrman, Chicago; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, and a sister.
Casket bearers are grandsons, Kelly, Larry, Kenneth and Ronald Krause.
