Obituary

Geo. N. Wold Rites Will Be Held Saturday

George N. Wold (69) lifetime resident of Richland County died Wednesday at St. Francis hospital in Breckenridge. Funeral services will be conducted from Schmitt and Poulton Funeral home Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Hans Upstad, Abercrombie officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens. Visitation at the funeral home is Friday afternoon and evening.

Born May 6 1889, he was confirmed in the Bethany Lutheran church and attended schools in Abercrombie township. He lived on his parents’ farm until 1911. They farmed in the Dwight vicinity from 1917 until moving to Wahpeton in 1951, where they resident at 419 4th St No. Mr. Wold retired from farming in 1956. Surviving besides his wife are five children: Mrs. Eddie Lehman, (Edythe) of Breckenridge, Minn., Mrs. Johnny Enzminger, (Rubey) Jamestown, N.D., Mrs. Dean Hutchinson (Fern) Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Harold Lenzmeier, (Hatty) Wahpeton, and Earl of rural Wahpeton. A son, Ray was killed in World War II in 1945.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lars Wold, brother, Elmer, of Dunsmir, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. C. T. Oscarson (Sophie) of Abercrombie.

Surviving brothers and sisters included Melvin of Abercrombie, Eddie of Wahpeton Mrs. O. N. Hatlie of Abercrombie, Mrs. Alvin Rustvang, Abercrombie, Mrs. Carl Oscarson, Fergus Falls, Minn., and Annie of Abercrombie. He also leaves nine grandchildren.
