FUNERAL FRIDAY FOR JUDGE WAKEFIELD Services to be Held at Congregational Church for Former County Judge
Funeral services for O.J. Wakefield, probate judge in Richland County for a number of years, will be held at the Congregational church Friday morning at eleven o’clock. He died in Montana last Friday and the body was accompanied to Wahpeton by his son. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery beside his wife, who proceeded him in death many years ago. Mr. Wakefield was a pioneer business man in the county operating a store in Dwight for a number of years before being elected to the office of county judge, at which time he moved to Wahpeton. He served as county judge from 1901-1906, following which he continued to mark his home here a few years, acting as collector. Since leaving Wahpeton he had made his home in Montana and in California.
