Obituary
Porter Walker, 47, Breckenridge, Dies
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday for Porter D. Walker, 37 at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral home in Breckenridge. Rev. F. C. Schmidt officiated with interment at Fairview cemetery in Wahpeton. Pallbearers were Herman Rich, Arlin Evenson, Paul Bernard, John Hammond, Bill Hammond and Amil Bartl.
Mr. Walker died Sunday in University Hospital, Minneapolis, Minn.
He is survived by his wife seven sons, Willie B., Jerry, Tom and Johnny Wahpeton; Glendale Flint, Mich.; Bob Gene Leachville, Ark. Five daughters, Diane and Mae, Wahpeton (Doris Jean) Mrs. Athen Jones in Turkey; Charlotte Sylvia, Finley and Patsy Lou Walker, Leachville, Ark.
He is also survived by six brothers Albert, Mountain Home, Ark.; Walter, Sacramento, Calif.; John, Mountain Home, Ark.; Arthur, Mountain View, Calif.; Thomas, Galena, Mo.; and Ted, Somona, Calif.; and three sisters (Ethel) Mrs. Clarence Talbert, Viola, Ark.; (Essie) Mrs. Nobel Talbert, Mountain Home Ark.; (Bella) Mrs. Fred Maxwell, Fairfield Calif., and seven grandchildren.
Porter D. Walker was born October 31, 1913 at Cumi, Ark. and raised in Mountain Home, Ark. As a young man he moved to California and lived at Somona. On Oct. 10, 1943 he was married to Evelen Suitor at Tulare, Calif. In 1949 he and his family moved to Breckenridge, Minn., where their home has been until three weeks ago when they moved to Wahpeton.
