Obituary
Wegener Dies on Railroad Run Friday
Henry A. Wegener, life long resident of this community, died near Casselton while on a run with the Great Northern railway Friday. He was 39 years old.
He was a brakeman on the northbound GN mixed train, No 449, enroute from Breckenridge to Larimore. Members of the train crew said he complained of being ill while at Davenport, about 14 miles south of Casselton.
When the train reached Casselton an ambulance was called but he was dead on arrival. Cass County Coroner R. J. Yoder said the death was due to natural causes. Funeral services have been set for Wednesday at 2:30 from the First Congregational church in Wahpeton with Rev. S. G. Schick officiating.
Schmitt and Olson Funeral Home of this city is in charge of arrangements. Military rites will be conducted at the church and grave by members of the Breckenridge American Legion post of which he was a member. Interment will be made in the family lot in Fairview cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the Schmitt and Olson chapel from two p.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday.
