Obituary
Hazel Weiss
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday for Hazel Grace Weiss, 80, who died Friday at St. Francis Hospital.
The funeral was held at Vertin's Wahpeton Chapel with the Rev. Stanley K. Mueller officiating. Organist was Jerald Stewart, vocalist was Lyle Jacobson.
Casket bearers were John Deissler, Donald Jacobson, Norman Bohn, Palmer Pederson, Henry Dichraff and Lowell Hooge. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Mrs. Weiss was born June 1, 1894 at Fairmount, to Charles and Augusta Schendel Letteer. She attended local schools and on April 20, 1914 she married William Weiss, at Iron Mountain, Mich.
From there they moved to Wahpeton where Mr. Weiss was a custodian at the post office. He died February 4, 1957 and Mrs. Weiss continued to reside in Wahpeton, the past six years at the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center.
Survivors include two sons Marvin, and Harold, both of Wahpeton, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two brothers, Roy of Willmar and Ray of Wahpeton, a sister, Mrs. Earl (Cecil) Walker, Breckenridge.
She was preceded by her husband, a son George, two brothers, Edward and Frank and a sister, Frances.
