Obituary
Albert Weis, 80, Dies Saturday Rites Tuesday
Albert Weis, Retired Wahpeton real-estate agent and long time resident of this county, died Saturday in a Jamestown, N.D., hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks. In failing health for several years, he was 80 years old at the time of his death.
Funeral services have been set for Tuesday at 10 a.m., from Vertin’s Funeral Chapel in Wahpeton with Rev. T. C. Hanson of Breckenridge officiating. Interment will be made in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Arthur Hauskens, Arthur Lee, Norbert Morris, J. J. Randall, W. E. Morden and Max Cameron.
Born in Germany April 16, 1875 he came to the United States when 14 years old to the Fairmount community where he attended school and grew to manhood.
He married Emma Bonk of Brainerd, Minn., June 5, 1900 and the couple moved to Wahpeton the following year. The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1950.
In the real estate business here nearly a half century, Mr. Weis served in the North Dakota legislature for one term in 1912. He was a former member of the IOOF lodge.
Besides his wife in Wahpeton, he leaves a son, Myron of Breckenridge; a granddaughter, Mrs. Al C. (Maxine) Randall of Willernie, Minn.; and a grandson, David Randall.
