Obituary
Aksel Winther
The funeral for Aksel Winther, 68, Abercrombie, was Monday at the Seventh-Day-Adventist Church at Wahpeton, Rev. Lowell Rideout officiated. He died Thursday. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Maynard Bjerke, Owen Altman, Jeff Kurue, John Rightmeire, Don Witenkamp and Charles Kresgin.
Aksel Winther was born Dec. 8, 1912 to Johannes and Maria (Johnson) Winther at Galchutt. He married Virginia Poston on Sept. 16, 1949 in Wahpeton. They lived in Breckenridge where he was a mechanic at Wing Garage and they later lived in Barney and Abercrombie where he also worked as a mechanic before retiring in 1975.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Aksel H., Wahpeton; Loren E. Nelson, Minneapolis; one daughter, Mrs. William (Sylvia) Jones, Breckenridge; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Melvin, Everett, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
