Obituary
L.W. Woehrmann
The funeral for L.W. (Peg) Woehrmann, 72, Wahpeton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Church with Rev. Marvin L. Hartmann officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. He died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge.
Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening at Vertin's-Wahpeton West Chapel.
Casket bearers will be Al Hausauer, Roy Hausauer, Harold Diederick, John Rader, K.D. Broin and Darrell Kalash.
He was born Aug. 17, 1908 at Wood Lake, Minn. to Frederick and Lily (Wenholz) Woehrmann. He married Dorothy Gilbertson May 15, 1934 at Wahpeton. He was a barber in Wahpeton and in North Dakota/Minnesota for over 50 years. He was named North Dakota Barber of the Year in 1969. He owned a barber shop in Wahpeton for many years.
He was past president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce winning its distinguished service award. He served two terms on the Wahpeton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He was a member of the Wahpeton Park Board for eight years. He was past president of the Young Democrats of Richland County, a former Boy Scout troop leader and player-manager of the Breckenridge-Wahpeton baseball teams (1928-34).
Later, he was business manager of the Breckenridge-Wahpeton Twins. He judged and announced boxing at North Dakota State School of Science for 18 years, was a charter member of the BPOE Elks # 2147 (Wahpeton), and a past member of Rotary International. He was also a member of the SSS 300 Club.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, a daughter, Mrs. Steven (Judith) Krohn, Wahpeton; a son, Dr. William A. Woehrmann, Valley City; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Joan Thomasberg, Bloomington, Minn.; two brothers, Everett Woehrmann, LaCross, Wis., and Leo Woehrmann, Springfield, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
